Tips for Your Mommy & Me Photography Session
Mommy and me photoshoots are about remembering the days of mothering that tend to pass in a blur as children grow.
Moms are often the memory keepers of the family, which means they are often left out of family photos.
Mommy and me pictures are great at every age and stage.
Here are 9 tips to make
thE most of mother
and kid(s)pictures.
The key to a great mommy and me photoshoot is to set up expectations before the shoot.
Plan the wardrobe.
Come with your makeup and hair style done before the session. Kids can not wait at the studio while you are doing it on it. At the time of the photo-shoot they are already tired.
Plan a time that’s not during nap or too close to bedtime.
Before the session, talk with your photographer about what the kid(s) are like and come prepared. If they always laugh at bubbles, bring along some bubbles. If they have a case of stranger danger, be sure not to be too outgoing and introduce yourself step by step.
Tell your photographer different things you like to do with your kid(s) or the things that make them smile. Something as simple as tickling or playing peek-a-boo can create natural smiles and sweet interactions.
Bring a favorite toy along.
Bring their favorite music in your telephone. We will connect it with my loudspeakers.
We’re dealing with kids here! Do not show up to the shoot without having eaten first. It’s a good idea to bring some extra snacks and water with you, just in case you get some rumbling tummies while you’re photographing.
Mommy and me photo shoots seldom go off without a hitch. A toddler tantrum or a little disobedience in the middle of the shoot is normal. Family shoots are often stressful on the parents, so it may help you to know that every session has its hiccups.
These moments don’t last forever. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch them while you can!
